Approximately $25,000 in assets + $5,000 in a CD earmarked for some type of service dog tribute.  Approximately $5,500 in upcoming expenses (benches and payment 4 of 5 due to the City), resulting in approximately $19, 500 in available funds.

New Business…………………………………………………………....      Margaret Prima-Verbeck

·         Park Re-opening-Word from the City is by June, 2008.  If it opens prior to that, members will be notified by email and a posting will be made to the website.

·         Park Enhancements-(2) benches for the small park and (5) for the large park have been ordered with ODPA funds; the City will install for no cost.  The ODPA is currently reviewing 3 proposals received for decomposed granite and cement installation in selected areas of both parks.  Future goal is to research shade structures that will work within the landfill constraints.

Patron Question: What about bark?

Answer: Bark was ruled out as some dogs eat it, it can be hard on paws, and it tends to harbor disease/bacteria from dog waste and urine.

·         Membership Renewal-Membership term is June 1, 2008–May 31, 2009.  Renewal applications will be mailed early May.  With the upcoming enhancements of the parks mentioned above, our funds will diminish quickly.  Please Renew!

Patron Question: What is the current membership?

Answer: Approximately 785

·         Website Redesign (PayPal)-At no extra cost to the annual webmaster fee, the website is being redesigned to be more user friendly, to add PayPal donation, membership/renewal, and store buttons (options), and a humor section.

Old Business……………………………………………………………... Margaret Prima-Verbeck

·         Fundraisers-Ralph’s continues to be a great passive fundraiser.  The last quarter check was $1, 145.00.  Will be expanding to include Food4Less, and will research into Albertson’s Community Program.

·         Information Table-once the parks re-open, we will resume the 1 weekend (Saturday and Sunday) a month schedule.

Comments & Questions

We need volunteers to man the Information Table with a board member and/or to replenish waste dispenser bags.  Any skill, talent, interest, or connection you have that may assist with the tasks of the association and the ongoing needs of the dog park is greatly appreciated.

Patron Suggestion: Identify the current board members on each newsletter.

The meeting adjourned at 11:15 a.m.
