New Memberships: 03-18-06 – 04-14-06
There were a total of 52 new members for this reporting period

The Board of Directors continues to staff a membership table each
weekend at the Dog Park (weather permitting) to answer questions, enroll new
members, and raise funds for the park.
We are grateful to Tom and Patty Moore and Chuck Simons for their
volunteer support in staffing this table and would be happy to have additional
volunteers join us. Please email us via
the www.orangedogpark.com site if you are
interested.

1. Signage
Our request to have a sign posted on the
Chapman Ave. facing Dog Park fence was denied by the City due to concerns about
traffic safety. The Board will continue
to pursue this issue with the City.
The Board will be installing “Off Leash
Beyond This Point” and “On Leash Beyond This Point” signs for the gates of each
section of the park. It is very
important that park users keep their dogs leashed until inside the entry pen
and to unleash them before entering the park.
This is critical for safety of people and dogs.
2. Orange Progress
In addition to having a Dog Park announcement
in the Orange Progress, the Board has asked the City to indicate that the Dog
Park is part of Yorba Park on the page that lists all the city parks.
3. Orange International Street Fair
An application for a booth is being
submitted.
4. Eagle Scout/Junior Girl Scout Bronze Award Projects
An Eagle Scout will be installing an
informational bulletin board at Dog Park.
A Junior Girl Scout troop will be installing dog themed stepping-stones
beneath the bulletin board. The ODPA is
happy to support these young people in their community service and to benefit
from their hard work.
5. Rubio’s Fund Raiser
Remember to join us on April 24th
from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Rubio’s Restaurant at the Village in Orange on Tustin
Avenue. 20% of sales will go to the
ODPA. You MUST have an official flyer
for us to get the benefit. Flyers are
